WCHS is extremely fortunate to have a privately developed facility that has housed the School since 2010. As part of the School's efforts to be a local resource we work to make our auditorium, cafeteria, and kitchen available to the neighborhood and the broader education community. Whether it is on behalf of another school, community organization, or local elected official, WCHS is committed to providing space for events hosted by our friends and partners in the neighborhood.

WCHS Hosts ELLE Magazine Shoot

WCHS collaborated with ELLE Magazine! The photo shoot featured an actual Brooklyn-based Assistant Principal in a variety of "looks" that maintain a professional appearance while including a strong element of progressive style. The photos feature the model/Principal, but also showcase the unique quality of the schools private facility. WCHS values the opportunity to host productions on campus that benefit the community and students in a variety of ways.

Law and Order Episode Filmed at WCHS

In the fall of 2013, WCHS was visited by the cast and crew of the popular TV show, Law & Order: SVU! The show partnered with the school for the purpose of shooting several scenes for an upcoming episode. Altogether, nearly 50 cast and crew members were welcomed by our community and spent several hours after school filming their scenes. The collaboration gave students and staff the opportunity to interact with professionals from various levels of the TV/Film industry. Before the cameras rolled, however, the legendary hip-hop artist Ice T, who plays one of the show's most popular figures, Detective Odafin "Fin" Tutuola, took the time to speak to a large group of kids about his upbringing, musical career, and life as a professional actor. Thanks to SVU for providing Charter with this memorable experience!

WCHS Hosts P.S. 145's Prom

On Tuesday, June 25th WCHS hosted the 5th grade prom for P.S. 145. Scores of excited elementary school graduates gathered in the auditorium to celebrate their promotion to middle school. The event was a huge success as it provided P.S. 145 with a venue for their prom and WCHS with the opportunity to collaborate with a local elementary school. WCHS looks forward to hosting P.S. 145 in the future as their students and administrators were gracious and respectful guests. Congratulations to P.S. 145's fifth grade class of 2013 -- you made it!
